(a)to support the british orthopaedic association (boa) in its advancement of the science, art and practice of orthopaedic surgery with the aim of bringing relief in patients of all ages suffering from the effects of injury or disease of the musculo-skeltal system including arthritis; (b)to promote surgery, training and education in orthopaedic treatment; (c)to promote study and research into orthopaedic surgery and treatment, including the related subjects and publish the useful results of such study and research.
