in assisting such needy and deserving persons resident in the parish of castle cary as they may select in some one or more of the following ways namely (a)by gifts of fuel,clothing,bedding,food and other necessaries (b)by payment to the funds of any friendly or mutual aid society,hospital,sanatorium,convalescent home or other like institution.(c)by paying travelling and other incidental expenses incurred in attending any such institution(d)by providing nurses,medical attendance,surgical appliances and other comforts and conveniences during illness or convalescence either directly or by contributing to the funds of any society established for those purposes or any of them.
