a) to promote the restoration of areas of former mine and clay workings and associated waste and to encourage the regeneration of plant and wild life. b) to promote the regeneration of heather and peat moor by the support of research into the ecology and conservation of the moorland and where appropriate the development of programmes of site improvement and replanting. c) to promote the education of the public into the ecology and conservation of the moorland. d) to promote the fullest use of the moorlands by repairing and reinstating public footpaths and bridleways and by increasing public awareness of the rights of way and bye laws relating to common land. e) to promote education by developing links with local schools to assist in developing an understanding of local enviromental needs.
