Objects:

(i) to advance public education about (a) the incidence of unemployment;(b) the needs of long-term inemployed persons; and(c) the ways in which such needs are or may be relieved. (ii) to advance public education through the promotion of research into politics, economics and other subjects relevent to unemployment,its incidence,causes and possible remedies; and the publication of the results of such research.(iii) to relieve need amongst those persons who are unemployed or threatened with unemployment and who by reason of their inadequate means are unable to obtain such advice and information on or in connexion with:- (a) their legal rights in relation to the termination of employment or as a result of such termination; (b) their entitlement to benefits in cash or kind from both their employers or ex-employers or the appropriate state department. (iv) to advance education and relieve need among unemployed persons through encouraging the provision of work experience for periods not exceeding two years and of such training facilities as will enable such persons to acquire and develop vocational skills.
