the trustees must apply the income of the charity for the relief of persons who have at any time served in or with the former royal army service corps or the former royal corps of transport, including members of the former women's services, and the dependants of such persons who are in need by virtue of their physical or mental health or their economic circumstances. the objects of the trust are (a) to promote the efficiency of the corps in such charitable ways as the trustees may decide including the advancement of education of members of the corps and the preservation of the traditions of the corps and forming corps; and (b) the relief of persons who: (i) are in need by virtue of financial hardship or sickness; and (2) are serving or former members of the corps or former members of the forming corps or the dependants of such persons.
