Objects:
(1) to relieve either generally or individually former and serving members of the regiment or former members of the former regiments and their dependants who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. (2) to promote the efficiency of the regiment in such ways as the managing trustees from time to time think fit. (a) the relief of ex-royal sussex soldiers who have served in any battalion of the regiment and who are in a state of poverty on or after their leaving the army. (b) the obtaining of suitable employment for necessitous royal sussex men who are in a state of poverty on or after leaving the army. (c) the relief of widows of royal sussex men who are in a state of poverty and in assisting as far as possible in maintaining and educating their children or the orphan children of royal sussex men until they attain the age of fourteen years.
