the trustees shall apply the income of the charity:1) maintaining the property of the charity (including the repair and insurance of any buildings thereon) and all other charges and outgoings payable in respect thereof and all the proper costs, charges and expenses of and incidental to the administration and management of the charity.2) for the benefit of the residents in the almshouses or any of them in such manner as the trustees think fit from time to time; and3) in reliving either generally or individually persons resident in the area of benefit who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or interest free loans or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.
