to promote: (a) high standards in architecture building and town and country planning. (b) the preservation for the benefit of the public of beauty or amenity in any cities towns villages or countryside and of lands buildings and features of beauty or historic interest in such cities towns villages or countryside as aforesaid. (c) the creation improvement and regeneration of the beauty interest and amenity of cities, towns, villages and countryside. (d) the avoidance removal or improvement in any such cities towns villages or countryside as aforesaid of building town or country planning or construction or development which is unsightly or in the public interest undesirable. (e) knowledge of and interest in the matters aforesaid amongst persons concerned with such matters in a professional legislative or administrative capacity of amongst members of the public generally (including corporate bodies) or any section of the public. (f) a sense of civic pride amongst members of the public generally or any section of the public and the fostering of community involvement and capacity. (g) the principles and practice of sustainable development.
