subject to the payment of expenses aforesaid the trustees shall apply the income of the charity as follows:-(1) as to 20% thereof as nearly as may be in one or both of the following ways:-(a) the relief of persons resident in the parish of carlton who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress either in gifts in kind or grants of money (b) promoting in such ways as the trustees think fit the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who are resident or who have a parent or parents resident in the said parish and who in the opinion of the trustees are in need of financial assistance(2) as to the residue which is 80% of the total income as nearly as may be in augmenting the stipend of the incumbent for the time being of the ecclesiastical parish of carlton st. mary and drax st. peter and st. paul and subject thereto in furthering the religious and other charitable work of the church of england in the said ecclesiastical paris
