for the benefit of persons living in the london borough of croydon and elsewhere in south london and particularly africans or those of african descent as defined below by the preservation and protection of health, the advancement of education and to relieve persons suffering from sickness and distress or who are otherwise in need.(1) single parent bereaved families who either lost one of the parents through the many civil wars going on in african countries or through illness or otherwise while living in the united kingdom and are bringing up young children on their own. (11) single parent families caring for any member of family living with disabilities. (111) single parent families if one or the family member or members is/are taken to or released from hospital with a life threatening illness and/or suffering from terminal illness i.e. hiv/aids. (iv) any child/young person from one of the above mentioned families aged between 4-25 years old and is in crisis/ difficulty especially in the following areas:- solvent abuse (drug/alcohol addictions); health; mental illness; teenage pregnancies; behaviour problems; school work/homework especially english (spelling, reading and writing) and maths (numeracy).
