1) relief of poverty, sickness and distress of members of the community particularly those detained by the immigration authorities and others with restricted income who were held at immigration detention centre by providing such persons with basic amenities such as stamps, envelopes, legal advice, counselling, translating and interpreting services in matters of their detention and application, money, debts, welfare benefits, housing, health, education, housing, training and employment. 2) by the provision for such persons of a) facilities for their education and cultural and educational training b) facilities to promote their health (including the provision of translators and interpreters at clinics and surgeries and c) facilities in the interest of social welfare for their recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving their conditions of life. 3) to do everything reasonably possible within available resources to allow for the education and protection of the rights and welfare of women, young people, the elderly/pensioners, asylum seekers, refugees, disabled people and other needy or deprived persons.
