1. to preserve and improve the standard of horses and ponies in general and of the caspian horse (see definition below) in particular, this breed being numerically small and genetically valuable, by breeding and importing caspians and by continuing the introduction of caspian blood into pony and horse breeding.2. to promote and facilitate the acquisition and distribution of knowledge in all countries of the various arts and sciences connected with the use and management of horses and ponies in general, and of the caspian horse in particular.3. to provide or assist in the provision, for the public benefit, of facilities for the recreation or other leisure time occupation, through the use of horses and ponies, but confined to facilities provided in the interests of social welfare within the meaning and so as to satisfy the requirements of the recreational charities act 1958.4. to prevent cruelty to horses or ponies
