(1)during the lives of the settlors upon trust to pay or apply the income of the trust fund and also so much of the capital of the trust fun d as the settlor may from time to tim e by notice in writing to the trustees direct to such charities or for such charitable purposes and in such proportion in such manner and subject to such terms and conditions as the settlors may from time to time by a like notice determine and subject to and in default of the any such direction and insofar as direction may not extend as the trustees may at their uncontrolled discretion determine(2)after the death of the survivor of the settlors upon trust to pay or apply the capital and income of the trust fund to those charities nominated by the settlors or the survivor of them during their respective lifetimes or if there be no such nomination to those charities to which the trustees have in the twelve months before the death of the survivor of the settlors made distribution of income in such proportions in such manner and subject to such terms and condition ss as the trustees may at their uncontrolled discretion determine having regard to any direction s given or wishes expressed by the survivor of the settlors during her lifetime
