Objects:
the objects of the charity are to promote and extend education (including spiritual,moral, social, cultural and physical education) in accordance with the doctrines andprinciples of the church in the diocese of chichester or elsewhere through any orall of the following means:3.1 by carrying on the school known as lancing college and any school orschools associated with it in a manner which develops and sustains a christianenvironment centred on the anglican tradition of the eucharist and at which afundamental importance is attached to the teaching of those principles;3.2 promoting and supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of woodardcorporation;3.3 promoting the use of the facilities of any school by the wider communityand (save for purposes incidental and ancillary to those objects), no other purposes. (1) the object of the charity is to advance the education of pupils attending the college by the award of: (a) prizes (or other suitable reward); and (b) leaving grants (which may take the form of scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries or maintenance allowances) to pupils leaving the college and continuing their education. (2) in awarding prizes, scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries or maintenance allowances in accordance with this scheme, the trustee may have regard to the existing trusts of any of the charities. (3) the trustee may associate a grant or prize with the name of any relevant benefactor of the college the endowment in perpetuity of lancing college exclusively of any and every other school or college from time to time conducted by the division or by any other divisional society of the corporation.
