5. The objects for which the Company is established are for the benefit and safety of the public:-5.1 to promote and encourage improved standards in the safe and efficient distribution, storage, handling, usage advice and application of plant protection products and relevant techniques (including molecular technology, biotechnology, plant nutrition, biopesticide products) used in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, industrial, public health and other relevant industry sectors5.2 to promote and encourage improved standards in the safe and efficient use of plant nutrition products and related advice in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, industrial and other relevant industry sectors;5.3 to advance education amongst the public and those with an interest in the matter of the storage, distribution, contract application and handling and use of relevant products and technologies by the provision, encouragement and facilitation of suitable training, professional development and educational activities; and5.4 to improve standards and advice on any sector of the agricultural and related industries and their services that are considered relevant by the Board and that are compatible with the systems and competence of BASIS.
