the trustees shall hold the trust fund and its income upon trust to apply them for the following objects in the south east(1) the promotion for the benefit of the public of any charitable purpose directed to alleviating through assistance and support, those who have lost a member of family or close friend as a result of death arising from murder, manslaughter or unlawful killing (hereinafter referred to as homicide), (2) to promote and support research into the effects on society of murder, manslaughter and unlawful killing and to disseminate the results of such research for the benefit of the public.
