Objects:
the trustees shall hold the trust fund and its income upon trust to apply them for the following objects1) the advancement of education and research into the social and economic life of the area corresponding to the ancient counties of pembrokeshire and carmarthenshire and the county of west glamorgan as defined by the local government act 1973 and in particular (but not derogation of the generality of the foregoing) for such purpose to fund prizes, scholarships, bursaries, research grants, symposia and publications2) the relief of poverty among social studies students in the university of wales swansea3)the advancement of education in german in schools in the county of swanseaand so that in pursuance of such objects the trustees mayi) create separate funds for the funding of each such object (under guidance from the settlor during his lifetime) but with power to transfer money from any one such fund to any other or others of them from time to time as the trustees see fit; andii) seek advice concerning the disbursement of money in any such fund from a committee or committees of suitability qualified advisors established for such purpose (and under guidance from the settlor during his lifetime) provided always that the legal responsibility for the making of any such disbursement shall remain with the trustees
