(a) to promote the study of history and/or politics by awarding scholarships or bursaries tenable at an institution of further or higher education or other educational establishment to persons who are over 17 years of age and resident in the area of the knowsley metropolitan borough council and studying history and/or politics at post 'a' level or equivalent qualification and who have described the uses to which such an award will be put and agreed to report to the trustees on its actual use(b) to create a dedicated section within the huyton library providing books on history and/or politics purchased through the trust fund
