(i)to promote the relief of such persons who have haemoglobinopathy disorders including sickle cell and thalassaemia by the provision of a counselling and information service and by liaising with agencies and institutions which deal with those affected by the disorders and by the care, welfare and treatment of persons who have the above disorders, their families, carers and dependants; and(ii) to advance the education of the public about the effects of sickle cell thalassaemia disorders with a view to promoting the general health care of the affected population both at a local and national level.
