the charity is established for the following purposes:1. to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the city of derby in particular and with out prejudice to the generality of the foregoing those african ethnic origin by:a) the advancement of education including african culture, arts, and history;b) the preservation and promotion of good healthc) the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants;d) the advancement of education by the provision of information about africa and its people to schools, authorities and the community in general.e) the promotion of racial harmony and good relations between persons of different racial groups within the community.2) the relief of poverty, sickness, suffering and the distress any where in the world.
