"(a) to work towards the relief of poverty amongst persons resident or working in the walsall metropolitan borough and surrounding areas (hereinafter called the ""benefit area"") and in particular persons from the african/african- caribbean/ african-british communities by providing such persons with services which they could not otherwise obtain or which it would not be reasonably practicable for the furtherance of this object;(b) to assist those who are unable to take part in social and economic activities because of low income, lack of access to services or lack of opportunities by entering into conference on channelling the right resources to those most in need, on making services more accessible and culturally sensitive and to enable people to be involved in decisions which affect them;(c) to work for the elimination of racial discrimination and to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons from the african/african-caribbean /african- british communities and persons from other communities.(d) to work towards the advancement of education, training and re-training amongst persons resident or working in the benefit area by providing or assisting with the provision of facilities and resources for the teaching of educational and vocational skills, and for guidance. to promote the appreciation of the cultural heritage of the african/ african- caribbean /african-british community.(e) to work towards the relief of unemployment by promoting and assisting with business advice, technical assistance, the creation of new jobs or businesses in the benefit area, by securing or awarding funds for the furtherance of this object and by making representations on behalf of the african /african-caribbean /african-british community to private, statutory or voluntary sector service providers consistent with the furtherance of this object.(f) to work towards the protection of health amongst persons resident or working in the benefit area by raising awareness of medical and health issues specific to people residing in the benefit area, and in particular raising awareness of medical and health issues specific to persons from the african/ african- caribbean/ african- british community; establishing housing, leisure based support and welfare activities through charitable means for the benefit of the sick and distressed, carers and their families and to support activities for the advancement of medicine and for the protection of health and the relief of sickness and distress; securing funds and resources to enable further research and improve factual knowledge of diseases and causes of ill health;(g) to encourage african/ african- caribbean /african-british community organisations to work together in developing joint delivery and planning of services, to forge links with local, regional, national and international agencies who support the charity's objects. to develop mechanisms in conjunction with other organisations for the furtherance of these objects and to work for the advancement of such other charitable purposes as are beneficial to the community for persons resident or working in the benefit area."
