"1) to manage, restore and preserve for the benefit of the public the natural and man-made heritage contained within the site, listed as grade 1 in the english heritage register of parks and gardens, at wentworth castle and stainborough park, stainborough, barnsley, south yorkshire, formerly owned by the first and second earls of strafford (of the second creation) and the vernon wentworth family, (hereinafter referred to as ""the site"") which may from time to time be purchased, taken on lease or in exchange or otherwise acquired by the charity and further to have these powers in respect of wentworth castle itself.2) to manage restore and preserve for the benefit of the public the natural and man-made heritage contained within such remnants of the wider estate at wentworth castle and stainborough park, stainborough, barnsley, south yorkshire, formerly owned by the first and second earls of strafford (of the second creation) and the vernon wentworth family, (hereinafter referred to as ""the wider estate""), but lying outside the site, which may from time to time be purchased, taken on lease or in exchange or otherwise acquired by the charity and further to have these powers in respect of wentworth castle itself.3) to facilitate the use of the site and the wider estate for educational and recreational purposes in the interests of social welfare and of benefit to the general public by means of:a) the restoration and conservation of the historic buildings, monuments and structures located on the site and the wider estate;b) investigation into and conservation of other historical and archaeological features of public interest on the site;c) the provision of public access to the site and the wider estate, including the provision of visitor and user facilities on the site and the wider estate including footpaths, bridleways, roadways, vehicle parking and accommodation for study, information and information centres, staff accommodation, offices ancillary to the objects herein contained and workshops, greenhouses and horticultural facilities, educational craft workshops and recreation amenities in the interests of social welfare;d) improvement, conservation and where appropriate, extension of existing woodlands on the site and wider estate;e) the creation of a nature reserve and the protection, preservation and enhancement on the site and the wider estate, oh habitats for flora and fauna;f) the promotion of the general education of the general public and through a wide range of creative, scientific, practical and other leaning activity, including support and encouragement of research and technical innovation, of the study and understanding by children and adults of the built heritage, heritage landscape, the natural and woodland environment and their conservation and use;g) the development and maintenance on the site and wider estate, of education in agricultural, woodland and other traditional rural crafts and skills, which link conservation with proper use of the natural environment."
