1. to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and detection of crime, to liase with the prescribed 'responsible authorities' as defined within the crime and disorder act 1998 and other relevant and associated organisations in the prevention and detection of crime and to create effective communication between the public and the arun sector of the sussex police west downs division and vice versa. 2. to promote, assist and sustain such activities that are aimed at alleviating public fear of crime. 3. to liase with and make representations to the crime prevention panel, victim support scheme and and any other relevant organisations and authorities. 4. the association shall be non-party in politics and shall operate an equal opportunities policy.
