to ensure the enduring commemoration of the prisoners of war who were held at the prisoner of war depot, norman cross, peterborough between the years 1797 and 1814, by:2.1 the replacement of the memorial either by the re-erection of the original bronze eagle sculpture if it should be found and should be in suitable condition, or by the commissioning and erection of a replacement eagle sculpture, including the repair and replacement of the column and base and the commissioning of all other associated works which, together with the selection of suitable materials, shall be determined by the trustees in their absolute discretion.2.2. 1. to provide for the preservation and maintenance, and, if necessary, the replacement thereof of the memorial; and 2.2.2. to promote greater knowledge of the history of the prisoner of war depot and the collection of bone models, straw marquetry and other works made by the prisoners and which is now held by peterborough museum.
