Objects:
for the benefit of nene park trust of ham lane orton peterborough whose objects are: (a) to provide facilities for recreation education and leisure time occupation for the inhabitants of peterborough and the surrounding area by the management maintenance and improvement of the park as a country park for the benefit of the said inhabitants and in the interest of their social welfare without distinction of age sex political religious or other opinion and to further any other charitable purpose for the benefit of the said inhabitants. (b) to establish parkland facilities picnic areas play areas botanical gardens wildlife reserves arboreta open air theatres art facilities information centre and facilities for sports recreation and entertainment and any other facilities of a like nature for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of peterborough and the surrounding area and in the interests of their social welfare. (c) to conserve and safeguard wildlife in and around the park and to encourage secure and maintain existing and new habitats of varying kinds for the preservation of the flora and fauna of the area including the provision of animal parks. (d) to preserve restore develop and enhance industrial and historic features including railways canals and watercourses within and around the park. (e) to establish educational facilities for the teaching of sports and for the study of the environmental aspects of peterborough including landscape ecology geology history industrial and other forms of archaeology.
