to promote religious and racial harmony in britain for the benefit of the public by :(a) raising awareness of islamophobia and other forms of religious and racial discrimination by publications, lectures, media, public advocacy and other means of communication;(b) to provide specialist advice and assistance to victims of religious and racial discrimination;(c) conducting and commissioning research into religious and racial discrimination and methods of promoting religious and racial harmony, and disseminating the useful results of the same to the public;(d) raising public awareness of different religious cultures and traditions and in particular islamic culture and arts;(e) encouraging good relations between people from and communities of different religious backgrounds in particular by liaising with and providing information to public authorities;(f) to identify issues affecting muslim sensitivities and sensibilities and to deal with them as is appropriate on and issue to issue basis;(g) to identify general islamophobic and muslim-alienating trends in society and to formulate advice for the relevant agencies as to how best to tackle such trends;(h) to organise and/or undertake low-keyed campaigns and lobbying to change ill-informed perceptions and unjust laws affecting the muslim community in britain;(i) to monitor the way the regime if anti-discrimination law is working and recommend ways in which it can be improved;(j) to encourage good relations between people from and communities of different religious backgrounds.
