the objects of the charity are, for public benefit:- upon receipt of a request for assistance, to provide; 3.1 relief and assistance to people in any part of the world who are victims of any disaster natural or man-made or catastrophe through the rapid deployment of volunteer personnel suitably trained and equipped in disaster response to provide, but not exclusively; urban search and rescue, humanitarian aid and disaster relief between the moment a disaster or catastrophe occurs and the point at which conventional disaster relief organisations are able to respond, and on an on-going basis. 3.2 disaster risk reduction, preparedness training and mitigation interventions; and to train volunteers to form response teams in any part of the world affected or at risk from disasters. 3.3 relief and assistance to people in the united kingdom who are the victims of any disaster natural or man-made or catastrophe by providing volunteer personnel referred to in article 3.1 to support where needed to responses of the emergency services and other national and regional organisations to such occurrences. 3.4 the advancement of community development and resilience by providing opportunities for volunteers to help meet the needs of local communities in the united kingdom, as identified by and in co-operation with the emergency services and voluntary organisations, and in doing so, to also provide volunteers with the opportunities to acquire, practice and gain confidence in the skills required to carry out the purposes referred to in article 3.3 3.5 protect and preserve life
