to educate the public, assist historical research and to promote good citizenship by 1. promoting, compiling, publishing and maintaining a comprehensive inventory and catalogue of war memorials in the united kingdom and anywhere else in the world;2. assisting in the finding, restoration and maintenance of such memorials, and in the establishment of new memorials; and 3. assisting in the care of and provision of access to other historical resources.
