1. to relieve poverty and suffering, to advance education, to develop and preserve good health care and promote social and economic development in such regions of sri lanka as the trustees of the charity shall decide by any means which shall be recognised a charitable and in particular but not limited to:1.1 the provision of medical aid, care, facilities and equipment including but not limited to the provision of neo natal equipment and the provision of grants to support the building of hospitals o specialist medical units.1.2 grants to schools, nurseries and other such institutions to educate, develop and train or facilitate the education, development and training of children (including pre-school children) and adults in sri lanka including but not limited to grants for building works, educational aids and materials and the employment of teaching staff1.3 grants to individuals living in sri lanka to enable them to rebuild and equip their homes or to rebuild equip or set up business in their local area, in particular, but not limited to those individuals whose homes or business or area had been severely affected by the tsunami or subsequent events1.4 assisting local communities to develop sustainable projects which encourage self-reliance and help develop the local economy15 the support of projects to develop and preserve public and community health including but not limited to the restoration of ancient reservoirs (water tanks) to provide water to areas affected by drought1.6 the arrangement, funding and facilitation of visits to sri lanka by gap year students and others to undertake work in areas of need as determined by the trustees including but not limited to teaching, administrative, technical and health care work; 2. the trustees must use the income and may use the capital of the trust in promoting the objects.
