3.1. to promote the study of local history, archaeology and natural history with special reference to southwold and its neighbourhood.3.2. to encourage research in the fields described in clause 3.1.3.3. to advance education in the fields described in clause 3.1.3.4. to collect, conserve, store and display artefacts, ephemera, photographs, postcards, etc. relating to the local history, archaeology and natural history of southwold and its neighbourhood.3.5. to maximise the accessibility by all sections of the community to the collection of objects and the results of the studies and research referred to elsewhere in this clause.3.6. the provision, maintenance and administration of a museum (hereinafter 'the museum') in buildings (one of which is grade ii listed) located on a site at 9-11 victoria street, southwold, suffolk, ip18 6hz for the reception and display of objects of antiquity, curiosity rarity or local interest for the benefit of the public.3.7. to promote such charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of southwold as the management committee think fit.
