relief of financial hardship of people and communities who are suffering hardship as a result of drought, earthquake, flood, war or any other disaster or who by reason of their social and economic conditions, are in need of assistance, anywhere throughout the world and in particular (but without limitation) in relation to those persons and communities resident in sri lanka who were adversely affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster that occurred on 26th december 2004 in and around south east asia.
