to relieve poverty, distress and suffering in any part of the world and in particular in countries recovering from conflict in areas where human fatality or injury is caused by landmines and unexploded ordnance by:a) funding the clearance of landmines and unexploded ordnance;b) funding the physical, economic and psychological rehabilitation of disabled people;c) funding mine risk education, landmine surveying/marking and the development of land cleared of landmines and unexploded ordnance;d) whenever possible and appropriate to support such of the work of the united nations which is charitable and its various agencies, departments, and programmes in the areas a), b) and c) mentioned above.e) to educate and advance the understanding of the general public, children and others as to the direct and indirect impact of landmines and the role landmines play in reinforcing poverty in many developing countries.f) to support and where appropriate undertake research and the publishing of research that explores and explainsa) the direct and indirect impact of landminesb) methods to improve the efficiency of landmine identification, removal and neutralizationc) methods to improve the provision of health and related services to landmine survivors.
