the objects are:-to promote the protection, preservation and improvement of theenvironment for the benefit of the public and to advance the education of thepublic in matters concerning the environment, its conservation andprotection, and in particular by(a) promoting reclamation, remediation, restoration or any other operationintended to facilitate the economic, social or environmental use of landwhere its use has been prevented or restricted because of previoususe;(b) promoting any operation intended to prevent or reduce any potentialfor pollution or to remedy or mitigate the effects of any pollution or landpolluted by a previous activity;(c) promoting research and development, education or collection ordissemination of information about waste management practices thepurpose of which is to encourage the use of more sustainable wastemanagement practices;(d) promoting the provision, maintenance or improvement of a public parkor other public amenity for the protection of the environment in thevicinity of a landfill site;(e) promoting where it is for the protection of the environment, themaintenance, repair or restoration of a building or other structurewhich is a place of religious worship or of historic or architecturalinterest, which is open to the public and is in the vicinity of the landfillsite.
