Objects:
the following objectives shall be undertaken mainly, but not exclusively for the benefit of theafrican communities in east london.4.1 to promote the voluntary sector by:i. liasing between charities, voluntary organisations, government agencies and othergroups on relevant issues;ii. providing training, conferences and seminars on subjects relevant to the efficiency ofthe voluntary sector;iii. identifying needs in the voluntary sector and establishing projects or policies toaddress them;iv. assisting in the administration of funding programmes to charities and voluntaryorganisations, monitoring for grants, recommending grants. assisting in applicationsfor grants;v. providing information to the press and the public on the operation of, or problemsencountered by, the voluntary sector;vi. providing services such as legal, accountancy and management advice to thevoluntary sector;vii. providing advice and information on fund raising techniques appropriate for voluntaryorganisations and charities;viii. acting as a representative of the voluntary sector in relation to government policiesand legislation.the voluntary sector means charities and voluntary organisations.a charities are organisations, which are established for exclusively charitable purposes inaccordance with the law of england and wales.a voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established forpurposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of thecommunity, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for privatedistribution. voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutoryauthorities.4.2 to promote and protect health;4.3 to promote social research into the needs of people of african origin and todisseminate the results to the public;4.4 to relieve unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance tofind employment; and4.5 to relieve poverty and hardship
