(1) to support and promote the relief of sickness of patients and their families at primarily, but not exclusively, great ormond street hospital, birmingham children's hospital and edward house, by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, services and equipment not normally supplied by the statutory authorities.(2) to relieve sickness by supporting research into microvillous atrophy and by ensuring the publication and dissemination of the results with the aim of understanding, treating and curing the condition, and by raising public awareness of organ donation, particularly combined liverbowel transplantation.
