Objects:
(a) to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of wetheral and the neighbourhood together defined by the electoral role of the wetheral parish council the provision of facilities for education, recreation and other leisure time occupation for individuals who have need of such facilities to promote and advance education and in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants;(b) to establish, or secure the establishment of a community centre and playing field (together referred to as the community centre) to assist in the provision of education, recreation and other leisure time occupation and to maintain and manage such community centre for the encouragement and promotion of activities by the charity and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objectives.(c) to promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. the trustees shall first defray out of the income of the charity the cost maintaining the property of the charity (including the repair and insurance of the buildings thereon) and all other charges and outgoings payable in respect thereof and all the proper costs, charges and expenses of and incidental to the administration and management of the charity.subject to payment of the expenses aforesaid the trustees shall firstly apply the income of the charity in promoting the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who or whose parents are resident in the area of benefit and have at any time attended as a pupil at a school in the area of benefit who are in need of financial assistance and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing;(a) in awarding such persons scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries, maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any school, university, college of education, or other institution of further (including professional and technical) education approved for the purposes by the trustee;(b) in providing financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books, to assist such persons to pursue their education (including the study of music and other arts), to undertake travel in furtherance thereof, or to prepare for or enter a profession, trade, occupation or service on leaving school, university, or other educational establishment.
