to promote the following charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of sale moor:_1) to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants;2) to advance education;3) to relieve poverty;4) to promote and protect good physical and mental health;5) to promote for the benefit of the public, the efficiency of the police in sale moor and to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime in the area; and7) to maintain and repair by-roads (being thoroughfares of a public nature but not maintained and repaired out of the rates) and the public footpaths.
