"the preservation and protection of ancient buildings for the benefit of the public guided by the principles declared in the manifesto of the society for the protection of ancient buildings written by the founders in 1877. the preservation and protection of ancient buildings for the benefit of the public in accordance with the principles declared in the manifesto of the society written by william morris in 1877 for buildings in the west country to provide a scholarship for architectural students to study the repair of ancient buildings as affected by a uniting direction made under s.96 of the charities act 1993 and dated 7 december 2006 for the preservation or repair of almshouses, preferably those suitable for women for the regular cleaning and repair of queen elizabeth's statue at st dunstan in the west, london ec4 for or towards the support of the educational work of the society for the protection of ancient buildings by the payment or application of the same for or towards the travel and maintenance costs of students on the society's scholarship programme in such manner and at such time or times as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit. for the general purposes of the society for the protection of ancient buildings. for the repair of buildings in dorset which thomas hardy knew and which he would have wished repaired the repair and preservation of wind and water mills for the protection or preservation of some buildings in kent for a fund to be called ""the benton fletcher fund"", the income from which is to be applied for the general purposes of the society, in particular for grants and for the repair and protection of buildings. for a collection to be placed in a period house to which the public is admitted for the repairing, maintaining and keeping in order the unsworth chapel at maghull for the upkeep of ditton chapel near westbury, wilts and, or, the general purposes of the society for maintenance of the fabric of the old church, langdon hills. income to be expended upon the parish church of clavering to preserve wingfield priory fressing-field as an example of tudor domestic architecture. to be used for the repair and adornment of churches in the county of nottingham. to keep the said mill in a proper state of repair and condition. to provide scholarships for post graduate students in architecture and related descriptions in order that they may pursue a course of study.
