(1.) to promote national and international conflict resolution and reconciliation for the public benefit with a view to relieving suffering, poverty and distress and building and maintaining social cohesion and trust within and between communities by:* investigating and identifying probable causes of the conflict* examining probable solutions to th conflict through participatory research into relevant and social and economic issues* supporting by financial and other means those who are mediating between parties to the conflict and enabling them to build relationships of trust* recommending to the international community and to the parties involved the measures which in the trustees' opinion are likely to result in the resolution or prevention of the conflict or the reduction of any humanitarian crisis that may ensue from the conflict* publishing reports for the public benefit on the causes and recommend solutions of particular conflicts.(2.) the relief of poverty, suffering and distress anywhere in the world especially where caused by conflict, violence and repression by the provision of financial and such other charitable support as the trustees in their absolute discretion consider appropriate for organisations, ngos and charitable organisations working in the field.
