the promotion of any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community of hertsmere and in particular borehamwood ('the area of benefit') without distinction of ex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants, the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to:i relieve poverty, sickness and distress;2 advance education and training and provide educational and recreational opportunities;3 to develop and improve the physical and social environment in an effort to enhance the condition of life for the said inhabitants of the area of benefit;4 to develop the capacity and skills of the community in the area of benefit in such a way that it is better able to identify, and help meet its needs and to participate more fully in society; and5 such other charitable purposes as the company deems necessary in the area of benefit from time to time.
