(1) to further the relief and prevention of sickness and it's consequences and promotion of health amongst current and ex substance users, their families and carers in the county of somerset by such means as the trustees shall from time to time determine. (2) to develop the capacity and skills of the substance misusing socially disadvantaged community of somerset in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society by the following means:-- working with members of the community- provide support and assistance that enables them to identify and deal with problems that affect them as members of the community- developing structures which enable them to be better placed to co-operate with each other and deal with organisations in the wider community- nurturing networking and the sharing of experiences as part of the learning process- enabling groups to consolidate and build upon existing skills; and - by such means as the trustees shall from time to time determine. (3) to advance the education of the public in the subject of substance misuse by such means as the trustees shall from time to time determine.
