1) to relieve the infirmities of old age and the poverty, sickness and disability of the beneficiaries; and2) to advance the education of the beneficiariesthe beneficiaries shall bea) people who are working or have worked in the further or higher education sectors (including academics, researchers, administrators, librarians, computer staff and postgraduate tutors);b) people who are or were staff of unions who have supported the people referred to in clause (a); andc) the dependants of either of the above.dependant shall mean in relation to a person referred to in clause (a) or (b) above, that person's spouse, grandparent or parent, child or grandchild, brother or sister (whether of the whole blood or half blood), uncle or aunt (being a brother or sister of the whole blood or half blood of the parent), such persons as are entitled to any beneficial interest in the person's estate under any testamentary disposition made by him or her and any other persons who in the opinion of the trustees are or have been dependant on such person or his or her spouse within five years of that person's death for all or a substantial proportion of the ordinary necessities of life.
