to establish and maintain a heritage centre in the smethwick area of the metropolitan borough of sandwell; to help advance the education of the public in the history of smethwick, in particular by the provision of permanent and travelling exhibitions and lectures and other such educational events; also to further the interest in the history of smethwick by means of research projects, collecting and preserving information and artefacts for sharing with the community at large.
