to relieve serving or former members of the regiment or former members of the forming regiments or the dependants of such persons who are in need by virtue of financial hardship, sickness or old age; andto relieve other persons who (in the trustees’ opinion) provide help or support to members of the regiment or former members of forming regiments and who are themselves in need by virtue of financial hardship, sickness, old age or other disadvantage the objects of the charity are: (a) the relief of wives, widows, children and other dependants of riflemen and deceased riflemen who are in need, hardship or distress; and (b) the education or advancement in life of persons who: (1) are under the age of 18; (2) are in need of financial assistance; and (3) are dependants of riflemen or the widows or children of deceased riflemen.
