Objects:
a) to provide for the relief of poverty, suffering and distress among the following categories of persons, by means of cash grants or by such other means as the general committee shall determine from time to time:1) members of the essex or other police special constabularies2) retired members of the essex or other police special constabularies3) members of the essex or other police special constabularies on retirement on medical grounds4) the widows and orphans and other dependants of any of the categories of persons given at (1), (2) and (3) above.b) to relieve in case of need persons of the categories (1) to (4) inclusive in sub clause (a) above who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped, infirm or aged and other persons in like circumstances at police convalescent or other convalescent homes or hospitals so as to provide or assist in the provisions of rest or change or air, the expenses of recuperative holidays, travelling expenses, the cost of obtaining domestic help and other necessary services.c) to make contributions to any charitable institution, including police convalescent homes or fund which has similar objects to those given in (a) above, or which provides for persons in similar categories to those listed in (a) above in respect of facilities for convalescence, medical care or treatment.
