= 2. (1) the purposes of the charity are, for the public benefit, particularly in london and also throughout the united kingdom:(i) to promote and assist in establishing equality of opportunity and harmonious racial and religious relations between muslims from different ethnic and racial backgrounds and between muslims and non-muslims from different ethnic and racial and religious back-grounds in order to foster mutual understanding and toleration by all or any of the following means :(a) providing information and education about and for the benefit of differentethnic racial and religious groups and communities;(b) providing practical assistance and(c) promoting research and publishing the useful results .(ii) to promote and assist in the reduction and elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race and religion by all or any of the following means :(a) providing information and education about the causes and effects of racial and religious discrimination;(b) encouraging conflict resolution and reconciliation between members of different racial and religious groups;(c) providing practical assistance to victims of acts of racial and religiousdiscrimination; and(d) promoting research and publishing the useful results, including but not restricted to the study and dissemination of knowledge of the problems experienced by any particular ethnic, racial, religious or national group in the united kingdom or elsewhere including research into racism and islamophobia;(iii) to promote and assist in partnership with the police, local authorities, other statutory bodies and community and voluntary agencies in the protection of people and property from criminal acts by all or any of the following means :(a) promoting good citizenship and public safety;(b) promoting greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime;(c) promoting effective strategic and social crime prevention methods and measures;(d) promoting good practice within criminal justice systems in relation to such methods and measures in order to reduce crime and disorder, victimisation and the fear of crime;(e) providing information and education about all aspects of strategic and social crime prevention methods and measures and solution of crime;(f) promoting research and publishing the useful results; and(g) providing practical assistance to victims of criminal acts.(iv) to promote and assist in the advancement of religious and general education for the public benefit concerning the knowledge and understanding of muslims and the teachings and practices of islam;(v) to promote and support such other charitable objects as the trustees may from time to time think fit for the benefit and safety of muslims and non-muslims.
