1) to further or benefit the residents of bolton and the neighbourhood by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of recreational facilities or other leisure time occupation in the interest of social welfare for the members of the community with the object of improving the conditions of life of such who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances have need of such facilities.2) to advance education , to promote health, to promote religious tolerance (in particular, advancing the cause and understanding of religious monotheism), to promote racial harmony, to promote equality and diversity and to eliminate discrimination in order to foster mutual understanding among people of differing beliefs and backgrounds and ultimately for the public benefit.3) to relieve poverty and distress for the benefit of individuals living and working in bolton borough and the neighbourhood thereof as well as relief of poverty in any part of the world.4) to promote any other charitable purposes, particularly for the benefit of the community, as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion determine and see fit.
