the trustees shallhold the whole or an part of the trust fund and the income thereof upon trust forany charity and either for the general purposes thereof (being charitable) or for anyparticular charitable purposes as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion byany deed revocable or irrevocable appoint(2) in default of and subject to and until any and every exercise of the foregoing powerthe trustees shall hold the trust fund and the income thereof upon trust to pay orapply the income and all or such part or parts of the capital of the trust fund as thetrustees shall think fit for(a) the advancement of the education of children and young personsthroughout the united kingdom of great britain and northern irelandand(b) such other charitable purposes world-wide as the trustees may determineat such time or times and in such proportions and such manner and subject to suchterms and conditions as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion, think fitprovided that the trustees may at their absolute discretion during the period oftwenty-one years from the date of this settlement instead of applying the income ofthe trust fund in any year accumulate all or any part of such income at compoundinterest by investing the same and the resulting income in any of the investmentsauthorised by this settlement or by law and holding the same as an accretion to andas part of the capital of the trust fund without prejudice to their right to apply thewhole or any part of such accumulated income in any subsequent year as if thesame were income of the trust fund arising in the then current year
