"(a) promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the croft ward of blyth valley districtof northumberland and surrounding areas (""the area of benefit"") withoutdistinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating thelocal authorities voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort toadvance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfarefor recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving theconditions of life for the said inhabitants;(b) establish and secure the establishment of a community centre (""the centre"")and to maintain and manage, or to co-operate with any local statutoryauthority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activitiespromoted by the company and its constituent bodies in furtherance of theabove objects."
