the object of the area meeting is the furtherance of the general religious and charitable purposes of the religious society of friends (quakers) in britain in the area of the lancashire central and north meeting and beyond. (1) furthering the religious work of the lancashire north and central area quaker meeting by the provision and maintenance of meeting houses and burial grounds. (2) subject thereto any remaining income at the end of the financial year shall be applied for any charitable purpose for the benefit of the friends and attenders in the area meeting, as the trustees in their absolute discretion think fit. (1) the promotion of education of friends and attenders of lancashire north and central area meeting in such ways as the trustees think fit. (1) relieving either generally or individually friends and attenders in the lancashire north and central area meeting who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons. (2) subject thereto any remaining income at the end of the financial year shall be applied for any charitable purpose for the benefit of the friends and attenders in the area monthly meeting, as the trustees in their absolute discretion think fit.
